Biography

Hi! I am a MPhil student working on a project about overseas Chinese students’ political understandings. Specifically, I am interested in how people come to adopt their current understandings about certain (political) events. At a higher level, I want to understand how authoritarian regimes produce political knowledge circulated in its citizens, and whether this knowledge will be challenged in other political settings.

Probably one special thing about me is that I studied science for my undergraduate degree. I later transitioned to social science after witnessing the 2014 Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. My interests in political sociology started from there. This transferring of field also leads to my another line of interest: methodology, sociology of science, and philosophy of science.
