YK Chu received his PhD in Police Studies from the University of Exeter in the UK in 1997. He earned his second PhD in Religious Studies from the Sun Yat-sen University in China in 2016. He is currently an Honorary Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology of the University of Hong Kong.
His research interests include police studies, organized crime and Chinese religions. He is one of the founding members of the Asian Association of Police Studies and the Hong Kong Juvenile Delinquency Research Society.
