Biography

Jackie is a full-time PhD student at HKU Sociology. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Social Science in HKU, double majoring in Psychology and Sociology, and her Master’s degree in Sociology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She worked as a Research Assistant in the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, CUHK on various projects about Hong Kong local identity after obtaining her Master’s degree. Her research interests include Hong Kong Studies, Economic Sociology and Sociology of culture. Her current research focuses on the neo-traditional Cantonese opera in Hong Kong, and the dynamics of the structure and agency within.
