The HKU Sociology Department is going to host Hong Kong Sociological Association 27th Annual Conference on 5 December, 2026.

The conference theme is “Power, Technology, and Agency in a Changing World” and we welcome the submission of abstracts and papers related to this theme and more broadly in sociology. We are pleased to invite Professor Christian BORCH from University of Copenhagen and Professor Mike SAVAGE from The London School of Economics and Political Science to give keynote speeches. For further enquiries, please contact Ms. Betty NG via email (hksa.abstractsubmission2026@gmail.com).

We also welcome submissions of panel proposals. For those who are interested, please send your proposal to hksa.panelproposals2026@gmail.com by Sep 25, 2026. The proposal should include (1) panel title and abstract; (2) panel convenor and affiliation; (3) list of speakers in the panel and their affiliations; (4) titles and abstracts of each speaker.
