Thinking about submitting a paper to a peer-reviewed journal? Join this workshop dedicated to exploring the ins and outs of publishing. The workshop will focus on the learning-curve of academic publishing, including strategies and common mistakes. Substantive topics will include choosing a journal, crafting an abstract, communicating with an editor, and negotiating the process of peer-review.

About the speaker:

Paul Joosse is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at HKU. He has published in American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Sociological Theory, and British Journal of Criminology, among other outlets. He is currently an Editor-in-Chief at the ASA's theory journal, Sociological Theory and he is an Associate Editor at International Journal of Politics, Culture, and Society. Earlier, he was an editorial assistant at the British Journal of Sociology.
