HKU Sociology Department climbs in 2025 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject, ranked 17th globally! Building upon our past successes, the Department has made a significant advancement of 7 positions into the top 20 rankings. Additionally, we are proud to be ranked 2nd in Asia and 1st locally, an impressive position solidifies our position as a leading institution for sociological studies in the region and beyond. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students, who have consistently strived for academic excellence and innovation in the field of sociology.  We are grateful for the continued support and contributions of the entire department, and we remain committed to advancing sociological research, education, and community engagement as we celebrate this milestone.
