Congratulations to Prof Duoduo Xu on her promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor with Tenure. Prof. Xu’s promotion signifies the University's recognition of her outstanding performance and accomplishments in her academic and research work.

Prof Xu joined the Department in 2019. Her research focuses on social stratification and inequality, and lie at the intersection of urban sociology, sociology of education, and sociology of work. Her works primarily explores issues related to child development and youth employment issues in Chinese cities (e.g., Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing), and she draws on various longitudinal survey datasets and a range of quantitative methods for causal inference.
