Welcome everyone to the new academic year! I hope you have had a restful summer and are excited for the year ahead. We are pleased to introduce some new faces to our department, including our newest faculty members, Katie and LT – please join me in giving them a warm welcome. Additionally, we are delighted to welcome our new Research Postgraduate students.

This year, we are proud to announce the launch of our third taught Master’s programme in the field of Sociology, which reflects our department’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and innovation. We recently held our induction day for students in the Master’s programmes in Criminology, MCCC and Sociology. We look forward to seeing the vibrant community of students and staff grow even stronger with all three Master’s programmes offered by our department.

It has been wonderful to meet so many new Research Postgraduate and Master’s students, and I am confident that this will be a dynamic and inspiring year for all.
