TPG Presentation Day 2026
7 March 2026

Our taught Master's students from the three TPG programmes successfully showcased their ongoing research at the TPG Presentation Day on 7 March 2026, held at The University of Hong Kong.
Students shared initial findings from their dissertation and/or capstone projects, receiving valuable feedback from faculty members and peers on how to further enhance their research work.
Our teaching team was once again highly impressed by the quality, depth, and originality of all presentations. Special prizes were awarded for ‘Most Engaging Presentation,’ ‘Best Use of Theory,’ and ‘Best Overall Presentation.’
Student Testimonials
"The criminology dissertation course has been one of the most grounding and rewarding parts of my studies. Working closely with my groupmates, Stan and Angus and consistently receiving constructive feedback from our supervisor, Dr Yujing Fun, helped us refine our research design, strengthen our analysis, and deepen our understanding of criminological theory. The experience enhanced my confidence as an independent researcher and reinforced the value of collaboration, critical thinking, and reflection in academic work." — Lok Yan TSUI, MSocSc(Criminology) part-time student
"The capstone experience has been an enriching culmination of what we have learned throughout our MCCC studies. It offered us the flexibility to explore topics that genuinely interest us, while our supervisor Dr LT Tsang provided consistent and timely guidance along the way. Receiving the Outstanding Presentation Award is a gratifying acknowledgment of our collective effort, and we are thankful for the support that made this journey possible.” – Wing Sze PANG and Sze Nga YUEN, MSocSc(Media, Culture and Creative Cities) part-time students
"As one of the inaugural cohort of MSocSc(Sociology), my Capstone journey was truly transformative. Under Professor Satoshi Araki's inspiring guidance, his thought-provoking advice pushed me to deepen my understanding and application of sociological research techniques and critical thinking. Working closely with my teammates, this challenging process culminated in our group receiving the Best Overall Presentation award. I am deeply grateful for this solid foundation and will carry these lessons forward in my future endeavours." & "I am truly surprised that our group received the Best Overall Presentation award. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our supervisor, Prof. Satoshi Araki. From guiding us through the revision of our proposal, to helping us define our research subjects and refine the logic of our literature review, and even assisting us in structuring our outline and key points before the presentation, Araki's feedback has always been detailed and timely. His guidance made us feel consistently supported, focused, and confident throughout this journey. When doing the project, we conducted interviews and read through relevant literature. This helped us step outside of ourselves, from an outsider's perspective, to investigate the mechanism behind the phenomenon. It is interesting and helpful, because the research resonates deeply with our own experiences and provided valuable insights." — Min YANG and Qing HONG, MSocSc(Sociology) full-time students
We look forward to continuing to support our students as they complete their research projects!
