We are delighted to share that Prof. Xiaoli Tian (Department of Sociology, The University of Hong Kong) has been serving as Associate Editor for Social Science & Medicine (Medical Sociology office) since August 2026.

With an Impact Factor of 4.1, Social Science & Medicine is a premier, multidisciplinary platform bridging the social sciences and medicine to advance critical global conversations on health, illness, and healthcare systems.

Prof. Tian’s research spans medical sociology, cultural sociology, and digital media, with current projects examining online interaction dynamics and Traditional Chinese Medicine in contemporary China. Alongside her editorial role at Social Science & Medicine, she serves as Associate Editor for Symbolic Interaction, the flagship journal of the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction.

Her contributions to the field have been widely recognized through awards from the American Sociological Association (CITAMS), the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction (SSSI), the Academy of Hong Kong Studies, and the Emerald Literati Network.
