Miss Cadence S C Tang
  • Cadence is a full-time PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong. She obtained the Bachelor of Criminology and Sociology (criminology stream) at the City University of Hong Kong, and her Master of Social Sciences in the field of Media, Culture & Creative Cities (MCCC) at the University of Hong Kong. At the City University of Hong Kong, she served as a research assistant on the Caregiver Support Model (CSM) project, which aims to increase family caregivers’ resilience through a Psycho-education Program on Empowerment (PPE). She also served as a part-time senior research assistant at the University of Hong Kong helping for projects related to crime and drugs. Her own research broadly centers on gender, crime, media and technology.


    She is also currently working as a Teaching Assistant of Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong; she has taught tutorials and provided teaching assistance to the following courses, Introduction to Sociology, Qualitative Research Method, Media and Culture in Modern Society, Girl Power in a Man’s World, Sociology of Knowledge, Science, and Technology, and Real Harm in an Unreal World: Crime, Regulation and AI.
