Guangfu is a full-time PhD student in Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong. Before joining HKU, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Tsinghua University and spent a semester as a visiting student at McGill University.

Methodologically, he focuses on advanced causal inference techniques, machine learning and generative social simulation. Substantively, he studies higher education, social stratification, intergenerational mobility and demographic transition.
