Ms Wanying Ling
  • Wanying Ling (凌宛莹) is a full-time PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong.

I conduct empirical research on population health and well-being, focusing on trends, inequalities, and their social determinants. My work integrates three perspectives: (1) formal demography, characterizing patterns and temporal dynamics in births, deaths, and health; (2) social epidemiology, identifying how work and family life shape physiological health and subjective well-being; and (3) computational social science, exploring novel ways to observe and measure social behavior using nontraditional data, analytic methods, and visualization.
