Qu Yue is a full-time PhD student at HKU Sociology. She received her Master’s degree in Economics and Education from Columbia University. After graduation, she spent two years as a full-time data product manager at Alibaba Cloud.
Yue’s research interests include economic sociology, school-to-work transition, and social inequality. Having worked at Alibaba Cloud, she has further developed two substantive research interests in this field: the heterogeneous returns to college and income inequality in the labor market, using computational social science methods and life course approach to evaluate the causal impacts of educational choices.
