English language requirements
Our MSocSci Criminology programme features English as the main language of instruction.
Generally speaking, if you are seeking admission to this programme on the basis of a qualification from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English, you are also required to obtain:

A score of 550 or above in the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of 213 in the computer-based TOEFL or a score of 80 in the internet based TOEFL.

A minimum overall band of 6 with no subtest lower than 5.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Grade C or above in the Overseas General Certificate of Education (GCE).

Grade C or above in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

Grade C or above in the Cambridge Test of Proficiency in English Language.
