Research Postgraduate Writing Retreat

Launched in October 2023, the Research Postgraduate Writing Retreat is a collaborative initiative organized by MPhil/PhD students and faculty members of the Department of Sociology. These retreats are typically held monthly during the academic semester.
The primary goal of the retreat is to provide dedicated time for participants to advance their writing projects in a supportive and non-intrusive environment. Common projects undertaken during the retreat include book or thesis chapters, journal articles, research proposals, and reports.
Most of the retreat time is devoted to uninterrupted writing sessions, with all participants working together in the same room. Brief, scheduled discussions between writing sessions are designed to address writing challenges, develop drafts, foster research-oriented conversations, and provide feedback on works in progress.
